Finding a Warm, Inclusive Psychologist in Moonee Ponds
A safe, neuro-affirming space where you are welcome to show up exactly as you are.
Meet Parisa
Stepping into a therapy room for the first time takes courage, and my first priority is to make sure you feel completely safe, heard, and validated the moment you sit down.
As a Clinical Psychology Registrar, I work with adolescents (12+) and adults who are navigating the heavy weight of anxiety, trauma, grief, or major life transitions. I also have a strong focus on neuro-affirming care, proudly supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and Autism, to thrive in a way that honours how their minds work.
Therapy with me isn't rigid or clinical. It is collaborative, flexible, and entirely centred around your unique needs. We will move at your pace, drawing on evidence-based approaches like EMDR, Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you untangle difficult experiences and reach goals that are actually meaningful to you.
When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll usually find me baking, running, or heading out for a hike to recharge outdoors.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you ground and grow.
How We Can Help
Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. At Ground & Grow Psychology Moonee Ponds, we provide comprehensive, evidence-based support tailored to adolescents (12+) and adults. We focus on untangling the root of the problem, equipping you with practical tools, and moving at a pace that feels safe.
Here are the primary areas we can support you with:
-
We proudly provide a safe, inclusive, and neuro-affirming environment that celebrates how your mind works, rather than trying to change it.
ADHD & Autism Support: Tailored therapy that respects neurodivergent processing, helping you manage burnout, sensory overwhelm, and executive functioning challenges.
LGBTQIA+ Affirming: A wholly welcoming, non-judgemental space for individuals of all genders and sexualities to explore identity, relationships, and mental health.
-
When you have experienced distressing events, the brain and body can hold onto that trauma. We utilise specialised therapies like Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help you heal.
Trauma & PTSD: Support for single-incident trauma, complex trauma, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Grief & Loss: A compassionate space to navigate bereavement, ambiguous loss, and major life changes.
Health Psychology: Specialised support for navigating the emotional impact, grief, and anxiety following a cancer diagnosis.
Stress & Burnout: Practical strategies to recover from chronic workplace stress, including experience supporting those in Fly-In, Fly-Out (FIFO) roles.
-
Living with depression can feel incredibly isolating and exhausting, making even small, everyday tasks feel overwhelming. We provide a warm, non-judgemental space to help you make sense of these heavy feelings. Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Schema Therapy, we will work collaboratively to understand the root of your low mood, break unhelpful cycles, and help you find pathways back to connection, energy, and a meaningful life.
-
Living with constant worry, intrusive thoughts, or a low mood can be exhausting. We draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Schema Therapy to help you break unhelpful cycles.
Anxiety & Panic: Support for generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, fears, and phobias.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD): Evidence-based tools to manage intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviours.
Depression & Low Mood: Helping you understand the root of your depression and find pathways back to emotional regulation and engagement with life.
Self-Injury & Suicidal Ideation: Providing a safe, supportive, and clinical framework to navigate profound emotional distress.
-
Our connections with others and our environment deeply impact our wellbeing. We use Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to help you build healthier dynamics.
Relationship Difficulties: Navigating conflict, communication breakdowns, and setting healthy boundaries.
Attachment Difficulties: Exploring how past experiences shape how you connect with others today.
Adjustment Disorders: Support for navigating significant life, work, or study transitions.
